Staff Bios
Our consultants have experience and skills that are second to none in
the Vista and Publishing world.
Dennis
Butler: President and CEO
Mr. Butler has more than 18 years of I.T.
experience, including more than 6 years of direct Vista Application
Development
and Consulting (at Vista) and almost 10 year of
direct
publishing experience.
During his tenure at Vista,
Dennis was responsible for successfully managing a Continuous
Application
Development Service plan for a $1 billion dollar trade publisher.
Mr. Butler was the lead technical
resource
for 6 data conversions for major book publishers. He
successfully managed the support team to
deliver multiple new application developments and business process
improvements. Additionally, he designed
and led the Tiered
Support Service Offering that provided continuous support on a 24x7x365
basis.
This service was led by Mr. Butler
for more than 4 years and included dayend and monthend support, after
hours
software implementations and upgrades, as well as general software
support. Dennis was also a major
contributor to the
creation of the AMS (Applications Management Support) wing of Vista
in North America. He
also contributed to the development
of the interface methodologies
still used at Vista today.
Mr. Butler has extensive
knowledge of Inventory Management, Order Processing, third party
interface applications
and data conversions. He also designed and
implemented many third party interfaces including Lightning Source for
print on demand titles. Mr. Butler has also worked as Vista's Technical
Site Manager for a major publisher and was responsible for training
off-shore staff at the company’s Indian Subsidiary.
Kenneth Baseley: Senior Vice President
Mr. Baseley has over 20 years IT and MIS
experience with over 14 years in the book publishing industry,
including 10 years at Oxford University Press,
where
he successfully managed an Oracle based Third Party WMS
system
connected to a Vista host system. The WMS
package offered real-time RF inventory updating, and complete
integration with automated conveyors for Pick/Pack functions and
package sorting. The WMS was able to improve warehouse efficiency in
Pack and Pack operation as well as inventory control through modern up
to date conveyor automation and RF technology
Most recently Mr. Baseley has been an
industry consultant for several publishers within the
legal/professional
market. Kenneth brings to the team a
detailed knowledge of the Vista Financial, Accounting and Royalties
systems. Specific Vista Module expertise
includes: Accounts Receivables, Accounts
Payables, Royalties, Order Entry, Inventory Management, General Ledger,
and
other sub systems. Other Application areas that Kenneth has played
major
development and management roles in are EDI and WMS systems.
One of Baseley's specialties is
his intimate knowledge of the Vista Dayend, Monthend, Operations,
and overall System Tuning and System Performance.
Barry Kern: Senior Vice President
Barry has
over 25 years of publishing experience in corporate
operations,
project management and training. His expertise in the ability to
analyze and
develop efficient processes has added immediate bottom-line value for
all of
Mr. Kern's clients. His utilization of “best-practice” implementation
methodologies to manage and complete projects on time and under budget
has been
recognized by both large and small organizations throughout the
United States
and internationally.
He possesses the experience, vision and knowledge to utilize new
technologies and practices in achieving practical, cost effective
solutions and agreed results.
Mr. Kern's work
has included Project Management
consulting for Vista, international publishing organizations,
manufacturing and
distribution organizations. He has performed in both line and staff
positions
including the Senior Vice President and Executive Vice President levels
at major publishers. Mr. Kern has enjoyed a strong reputation among his
clients as
a person who is both practical and results oriented. A true testimony
to his
ability is the number of times he is invited back by the clients he has
served.
Mr. Kern has
directed numerous International
and US
distribution
center relocation/startups and converted them to state-of-the-art
facilities. He has managed major ERP application software solution
implementations from start-up to completion. He is considered an expert
facilitator of business process analysis mapping. He is currently
working on a book to be released in 2005 on Process Flow Mapping.
Claire Villeneuve:
Senior Consultant
Ms. Villeneuve has worked on Vista
systems
for more than 15 years, including more than 7 as a senior technical
analyst and
technical project manager for Vista Computer Systems. Ms.
Villeneuve has extensive experience
in
Vista Client applications, including some of the more intricate aspects
of Vista
software. She has been regarded as one of the best resources
available in
the Vista Subscriptions and Journals Module.
Ms. Villeneuve has been a key part of many successful implementations
while at Vista including Holtzbrinck Publishing, and Matthew Bender
Legal Publishers. Like all of our other consultants, Claire also has
extensive direct publisher experience.
Hengameh Aghlara: Senior Consultant
Ms. Aghlara
has more than 8 years
experience in systems development and more than 5 years at Vista
as a Technical Consultant and Developer. Hengameh specialized
in Data
Conversions, Interfaces and the Vista EDI suite of applications.
Ms. Aghlara was the lead developer
for many data conversions, all of which were a great success as seen in
the
positive feedback from the customers. Ms. Aghlara also has experience
in Vista
Client applications. She was also lead in the
design and development of a new A/P interface into the Vista System for
third party vendor invoices. Ms. Aghlara's systems experience includes
SQL, Microsoft Access, Visual Basic and other 3GL languages. Ms.
Aghlara has worked on database applications for web sites.
